Animal Habitat Project

Please take a moment to look over the orange note that your child brought home today. This note states what animal your child wishes to research at school next week. The habitat project will be done at home. We will work on animal research and the animal brochure at school. Please let me know if you have questions. Below is a copy of the note. Also, I have added a few pictures of what habitats projects have looked like in the past.

Our class has been learning about animals during our first science unit. Next week, we will be in the process of researching an animal of our choice, composing facts about it in a brochure, and then making a habitat diorama where it might live. The research and brochure will be done at school. The habitat diorama needs to be completed at home and brought to school on Wednesday, September 21. Shoeboxes make a very nice habitat, but of course, use your imagination! Include anything this animal needs to survive, as well as anything else of interest based on your child’s research. Our brochures will be displayed with the habitats at Open House on Thursday, September 22 from 5:30 to 6:30. All projects will go home on Friday, September 23. Let me know if you have questions. Thank you so much for your help!
