Just a couple of reminders, please help your child remember these
each week.

Thursdays- Library books due

that their Take Home folder is at home. If your child’s Take Home folder is at home, please send it back to
school. Thank you!

Global School Play Day Information
On February 3, 2016, our school will participate in Global School Play Day 2016 (GSPD.) GSPD
has been promoted by Psychology Today and is celebrated at schools around the world. You
can learn more about the benefits of unstructured play by visiting the official GSPD website:
www.globalschoolplayday.com.
We are inviting all of our students to bring in things to play with on this early dismissal day. Here
are some examples of things your child may bring in:
●Non-Violent Toys (no weapons)
● Legos
● Blocks
●Dolls/ Puppets
●Toy cars
●Board Games
●Card games
● Puzzles
The only exception on the electronics rule would be a board game that has an electronic timer.
Though our play day will be unstructured, students will be working on cooperation, negotiation,
sharing, and communicating appropriately with our peers. It is our hope that this day of play will
inspire students and families to continue to make time for unstructured play during non-school
hours.
Thanks for your support!
Looking at a few fossils that a student brought in to show us. Our Journeys story last week was all about finding fossils. Thanks for sharing with us Jaden!
