Habitat project notes (yellow) should have gone home. We've started our animal research at school but have not finished yet. We will also continue to learn about habitats next week. Here is a copy of the habitat note if your child did not bring their note home in their folder today.
Our class has been learning about
animals during our first science unit. Next week, we will be in the process of
researching an animal of our choice, composing facts about it in a brochure,
and then making a habitat diorama where it might live. The research and
brochure will be done at school. The habitat diorama needs to be completed at
home and brought to school on Wednesday, September 23. Shoeboxes make a
very nice habitat, but of course, use your imagination! Include anything this
animal needs to survive, as well as anything else of interest based on your
child’s research. Our brochures will be displayed with the habitats at Open
House on Thursday, September 24 from 6:00 to 7:00. All projects will go home on
Friday, September 25. Let me know if you have questions. Thank you so much for
your help!
Here are a few habitat project photos to give you and your child some ideas.
