Congratulations to all of our Spelling Bee participants, everyone did a great
job.
Thank you to everyone who replied back about
conference times. If you haven’t done so yet, feel free to let me know what
date/ time works best for you by Monday, January 30.
I will try to
accommodate your schedule as best I can, a time range works better than a
specific time. If any date or time works, let me know that too. Conferences will
be Tuesday, February 21 and Thursday, February 23. I will schedule them
from 3:45 to 7:45.

Dear Families,
On February 1, 2017, our grade will participate in Global School Play Day 2017 (GSPD.) February 1st is also an early dismissal at 12:30. GSPD has been promoted by Psychology Today and is celebrated at schools around the world. You can learn more about the benefits of unstructured play by visiting the official GSPD website: www.globalschoolplayday.com.
We are inviting all of our students to bring in things to play with on February 1st. Here are some examples of things your child may bring in:
- Non-Violent Toys (no weapons)
- Legos
- Blocks
- Dolls/ Puppets
- Toy cars
- Board Games
- Card games
- Puzzles
*no electronic devices*
The only exception on the electronics rule would be a board game that has an electronic timer.
Though our play day time will be unstructured, students will be working on cooperation, negotiation, sharing, and communicating appropriately with our peers. It is our hope that this day of play will inspire students and families to continue to make time for unstructured play during non-school hours.
Thanks for your support.
